Lochore Meadows Country Park , Lochgelly
Lochore Meadows Country Park lies in the heart of Fife Regional Park West. It is a major centre for outdoor and environmental education in Fife. The Country Park is an attractive area, comprising reclaimed coal mining waste-land, gently rolling grassland and woodland. It covers an area of 1,200 acres, 260 of which form Loch Ore.
The park is open all year, and there are plenty of opportunities for interesting walks. At the west end of the loch there is a nature reserve with a wheelchair-accessible birdwatching hide. Car parking is available at both centres with smaller car parks situated throughout the park. The centre is open 7 days a week.
Townhill Country Park, by Dunfermline
Just to the north of Dunfermline, surrounding the village of Townhill. Taking in the beautiful Townloch and the natural Townhill Wood – with sport fields, adventure play areas, and superb woodland walks.
Opened in 1992 by HRH Prince Edward, and supported by SportScotland, the Water Ski Scotland purpose built Centre is located in the tranquil surroundings of Townhill Country Park. Two specially constructed and sheltered ski arenas guarantee good water conditions virtually all year round making it the ideal site for everyone, whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned competitor.
Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline
Pittencrieff Park or "The Glen" as it is known affectionately by the local populace extends to 76 acres and was given in trust by Andrew Carnegie to the people of his birthplace, Dunfermline. Facilities include Pittencrieff House Museum where yoy can discover the history of Dunfermline, superb gardens and greenhouses, and 2 play areas.
